Old news I know, but I feel the need to jump in.
Is the parking brake stuck on? I had that happen with my Intgera (lever was down, but the cables didn't release). After 3 miles city driving, the rear brakes were smoking. However this was a 19 year old car. Still, even a little sticking at 100 mph will cook the brakes.
People buy OEM parts because on new cars, that's all you can install without voiding the warranty. Sometimes you can't even install them on your own, the dealer has to. Read the fine print or it will kick your balls.
