how thick the pipes are. basically keeps the air a bit cooler on its way to the engine. Also the filter that comes with it is horrible, as soon as it comes in toss it. Go to autozone and order a K&N one in the same size, this will be about $50. Buy the other cycle filter as well, it will be $15 you don't need a good one. other than that you need a drill for the second filter, a socket set, and about an hour and a half.
