The plugs were my fault. I got the wrong ones, they replaced them with the right plugs. I bet they had less than a mile on them. I better get them back or get the new plugs for free or I will be pissed.
I thought the fuel pump was good. I pulled it and it turned fine, but I don't have any way of checking its flow (I will be installing a fuel pressure gauge underhood). Apparently it is now blowing fuses, so they are changing it out. It may be a wiring related problem.
As much as I know, I am not ready to do a rewire. Especially on a car that does not yet run. I'm hoping to get some experience building harnesses with the SAE team (which we have to do on our car), so maybe in a few years I can do that. And since the wiring was really bad, they needed to straighten it out before they could find out what else is wrong.
I have no way of reflashing the ECU. It's not programmable and even if it was, I don't have a dyno in my garage. Plus it was running before, so I figured it would run on this tune and I could get it retuned later. I spent 2 weekends working on the car, I even replaced the starter motor. Unfortunately, I wired it back up wrong and it wouldn't do anything. That's when I gave up and sent it to a shop. This shop is the second shop it has gone to. To be fair, the first shop is a repair shop and isn't familiar with the setup. The current shop is. All the problems (except the plugs) were all sneaking suspicions I had about what was wrong with the car, but no way to confirm them. This shop was way more experience than me, so they know exactly what they are looking for, as opposed to me who sort of BS's my way through stuff.
The relocated battery, new coolant tank, and new seats, harnesses, and wheel will all be done in my driveway. Once I can afford the parts that is.
I do as much work as I can, but there comes a point where I just throw up my hands. the last major job I did on my own car was the shocks and brakes of my '86 Integra. That was a fun job, since the car had teh same parts since probably before 2000. I hate rust...
