Hi all.
I have a '97 Accord EX that had discolored trans oil when I bought it. Shifting was a little too soft, too. I had it machine-flushed and it works perfectly now.
Problem is I recently noticed the trans is always wet on the seam where the two case halves meet. I can't tell if it is dripping down to that low spot or the gasket is leaking. There are no oil spots on the driveway at all, so it could be leaking only while driving.
Does anyone know of other places the trans oil can leak from in that area? Any comon problems?
I suspect it in fact is the case leaking, but reluctant to admit it. Plus I don't trust mechanics much. Anyone know how difficult the task is to overhaul it? If too complicated, what would it reasonably cost?
