You know, I've heard the same thing about the taillight seals. It might be best to take it to a shop if the leaking problem is that bad. That could cause damage to your interior that would cost a lot of money to get fixed, and this might just be some little tiny thing you are overlooking. Also, watch out for any black mold. That stuff can make you really sick, so take precautions when you clean out your trunk.
