If you want to go all out, then a B18 would be the swap, but since it was never offered in any model of the Civic, it will not pass tech as a "stock car" and classes that deal with engine swaps are very competitive. The B16 was in the Civic Si, so if you convert your entire car to Si trim, then it will qualify as stock (according to the latest SCCA rules). The competition there is pretty loose and it's a lot more fun to drive in.
