Ooh I get to use my favorite answer!!! It depends...

It all depends on how efficient your engine is, how efficient your turbo is, and how well you put it all together. If you have a good turbo and a well-built engine, then 10 hp/psi boost is exceptionally crappy. Think about it: how can an EVO make 1000 hp if it's only running 45 psi of boost? A B18C is a particularly efficient engine, so if that's what you are getting, you have done something wrong. 8 psi of boost is about going to double your horsepower (depending on how well it's tuned). You do the math.

Turbos push in a LOT more air than stock. It's a pretty noticable difference. 6 or 7 psi is like a well built NA engine. 8 psi isn't much, but it's closing in on the breaking point of the stock motor. I still say that if you want to do a ,lot of drag racing, then a V8 is going to be the way to go. 8 psi there is like 200+ horsepower, but it also usually involves a built engine.
