Just FYI, if you're not going racing nearly every aftermarket seat will be ok for street use (there are exceptions though, so only buy new and from a good dealer). FIA certification means that the seat passes FIA crash tests and will survive a racing accident. For street use, you don't need the FIA cert.

I still say the Si buckets will look cool if they mount the same way. I don't know if they do (they should since they also have to fit a bench seat in the same spot for normal Civics). Custom upholstery on your bench seats will also look cool.

What might work is if you repad your bench seat. Adding some hip and shoulder padding would give the same effect as a bucket and give the seats some depth. Since you are not modifying any mounts, then it should be perfectly safe. Do this when you are getting your seats upholstered. Find a junkyard seat and try it out. Get some foam and cut it to the right shape. It will take some trial and error, but if you work at it, you can get the support and look of the buckets without having to modify the whole floor of the car.
