A Hondata chip will increase your power for your car. Simply because you give them the list of mods your car and the motor in your car and they can program the chip to get the max power out of the mods that you have done on the car to squeeze more hp out of the motor. Whats nice about Hondata compared to other ECU's is that Hondata has a reprogramabable chip that if you do decide to say get a turbo kit for your car you send the chip in and they will reprogram it for your turbo.

Edit: I would get a manual tranny if I were you that helps a lot on acceleration because you have more control over it to get into high rpms for the max speeds. Plus if you decide to switch the motor out different Honda motors are pretty much for different things. Example H22's are usually used in cars that want more top speed. But B series motors are typically used more on the track mostly because of them being lighter and you can get overall faster acceleration.
