after the engine warms up, put your hand behind the fan. You should feel the fan blowing. If it's not, then it's broken. Also, check the hoses to see if there are any air bubbles in the lines. Take off the radiator cap and knead the hoses. The bubbles will come out and you'll have to add more fluid. I saw a Subaru that had this problem and when the air pockets came out it dropped from red to just over blue in a couple of seconds.
