okay, after reading your mind some more,
I realized you have an 08, your best option is the Hondata reflash. That will take the revs up to 8500 which will allow you to shift and easily stay on the high cam. Right now I don't think they have one out, but they should soon.
The one downside is it will make the VTEC transition more progressive, so the kick won't be quite as strong.
